Killingworth Connecticut Sightseeing

No where else on earth is there more to see and do than there is in Connecticut, particularly if you are into history, outdoor sports, haunted mansions or just about anything else.

Connecticut is home to no less than thirty homes which are deemed "haunted", as well as scenic driving tours that provide a day, or two days worth of sightseeing fun in the small state.

In Hartford, the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, which was once the home of author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin author, is thought to be haunted, especially in the area of Harriet’s writing desk and in the dining room, where history tells us that Harriet and her husband may have held séances after the death of their son.

Many people will tell you that spirits of Daniel Benton’s descendants still live in the Benton Homestead Museum in Tolland. From 1720 to 1932,the Bentons owned the home and during that time, several family members passed away from small pox. Visitors to the museum have reported seeing a woman dressed in 19th-century clothing walking the property.

The Shaw Mansion, Connecticut’s Naval office during the Revolutionary War is said to still serve as the Shaws’ home today! Photos taken on the landing where the Shaw family used to gather have revealed orbs of varying heights, denoting the presence of spirits.

At the Lighthouse Inn, which has been featured on the SciFi channel’s “Ghost Hunters,” it has been reported that paranormal activity takes place, and investigators have detected unexplained drops in temperature and feelings of being touched by someone. The belief is that the spirits of two Victorian women roam the historic inn, as well as that of a bride who fell down the inn’s stairs on her wedding day in 1930.

Called a scenic Byway of America, state Route 169, winding through colonial homesteads, stone walls, centuries old inns and ancient bed and breakfasts as well as untilled farmlands is one thing you certainly must see while you are sightseeing in Connecticut.

Glassboro, as close as we are to the coastal areas, provides breathtaking panoramas both summer and winter, with wildlife to photograph, old light houses and remarkable scenic beauty, but there is a bit more to our community when you head out to see the sights.

When you want a bit more entertainment, or you'd like to spend an entire day visiting the area, Holladay can offer that as well. Within hailing distance of our city are some of the most entertaining areas, and the best views of history, culture and industry that can be seen in the entire state of Utah.

There are multiple things to see and to do in the Lakeport area, including those which are located in Ukiah, not far from Lakeport. Take the time to see both the outdoor and indoor recreational opportunities that exist in the area, including the vast parks and museums.

There are numerous things to see and do in the Plant City Area, not the least of which will be Tampa Bay, just about 25 miles away. In the city itself you're going to find numerous things to keep you busy, and sights to make you smile, as well as sports or activities to keep you from any semblance of boredom.

Ready to get out and see some of the sights around Poulsbo? While you are out, don't forget to take a jaunt over to Puget sound to see some of the boat building and the breath taking scenery, not to mention the light houses that will have you spellbound with their history and architecture.

Sellersville sightseeing will, due to its proximity to Souderton, as well as to Philadelphia, have a great deal in common with it and add several attractions.

Snohomish holds more entertainment than just history if you want to take a second look. Centrally located to several larger cities, among the many things you can do are hot air balloon flights, woodland zoological parks and rotating restaurants high in the air with a breath taking view of the area.

When one visits or lives in Souderton there is a great deal to see within easy reach of your home or visiting place. Philadelphia with its many ties to the revolutionary war offers a vast array of sights that are well worth the quick trip to visit.

Swanton, though not the typical large community, still holds some interesting things to see and do, so if you imagine boredom while you're visiting us, and even after you've moved in to the house next door, nothing could be further from the truth.

There is a lot to see and do with the Hudson Valley as a nearby asset to the community of Washingtonville, making the sights here, and in the nearby area well worth your time to visit.

Your sightseeing trips are going to be exciting in Washougal, where, depending upon the season of course, you can enjoy swimming as well as other outdoor activities. Hiking in Washougal area is a challenge, and best done in the summer time, where the Cascade mountains are not ice or snow covered, as they can be from September to April.
